Bronze Quince Made by Polish Artist Aleksander Detkos

Aleksander Detkos, born in 1939 in Gorlice, is a Polish sculptor.
Fascinating piece made by Detkos in 1990. It depicts the quince fruit which itself is about as hard as this bronze. The high up leave gives it a somewhat burlesque appearance. Engraved: DETKOS . A . 90 . Detkos graduated at the State High School of Art Techniques in Zakopane (1955-1960) and the State Higher School of Visual Arts in Gdansk, on the Faculty of Sculpture and Ceramics in the studio of professor Stanislaw Horno-Poplawski (1960-1966). At the same time he completed a pedagogical study.
Winner of numerous prizes and honors in sculptural competitions his name is in the English edition of the biography of contemporary artists, published in Lausanne titled: Who is who.
