Brutalist Bronze Objet D'Art with Lots of Symbolism and Grace

Brutalist Bronze Objet D’Art with Lots of Symbolism and Grace

SOLD

This graceful work of art contains 7 people and various ladders on different spots of the object, representing the path of life.
The large “main character” at the bottom of the lowest ladder seems to be guiding (supporting) his or her child in the choices to make in life.
The central wheel seems to symbolize fate and destiny. Half way and on top are sitting and standing two respectively three persons waiting for what’s to come.
The work is signed Bi (or Bc) Klein and numbered 49. We think it dates back from the 1970s.
