Modernist White Wooden Chair “Steltman” Designed by Gerrit Rietveld

The Steltman chair owes its name to the famous jeweller Steltman who commissioned Rietveld in 1963 to rebuild and furnish his shop at in The Hague. Rietveld was 75 at the time, and it was his last design.

The asymmetrical chair is made entirely of lines and planes, typical of Rietveld’s design ideas.

This particular chair comes from a Dutch house that was full of Rietveld furniture.
