Modernist White Wooden Chair “Steltman” Designed by Gerrit Rietveld

The Steltman chair owes its name to the famous jeweller Steltman who commissioned Rietveld in 1963 to rebuild and furnish his shop at in The Hague. Rietveld was 75 at the time, and it was his last design.
The asymmetrical chair is made entirely of lines and planes, typical of Rietveld’s design ideas.
This particular chair was made in 1992 for Ger Dekker, a teacher at the Rietveld Academy of Art.
