Rare Set of 9 Different Japanese Insects Made of Copper, Brass and Wood
Group of late 19th century Japanese insects. This tangle of swarming, flying and crawling mini fauna is made of copper, brass and wood in larger than life formats. Four of the nine insects may be altered in shape by lifting up their wings or abdomens.
The set consists of 2 flies, 2 praying mantises, 1 ant, 1 cockchafer, 1 dragonfly and 2 undefinable flying species.
Measures: The longest insect is 25.5 cm / 9.65 inches long, the shortest is 7 cm / 2.76 inches long.
