This plain and austere plaquette shows us a muscular Roman young man wearing just a loincloth. Squatting on the ground he sits, in the typical position of the Le Penseur artwork by Rodin, in a brown study.
The plaquette originates from the facade of a villa in the Dutch ‘Gooi’ area, best described as the Beverly Hills of the Netherlands. The villa was built at the end of the 19th century.
