The French artist Yvaral, also known under his birth name Jean-Pierre Vasarely (1934 – 2002), was the son of pioneer of op-art Victor Vasarely. He himself also rose to artistic fame because of his important works in op-art and kinetic art.
He was cofounder of the Groupe de Recherche d’Art Visuel (GRAV) together with Horario Garcia Rossi, Francois Morellet, Francisco Sobrino, Joël Stein and Julio Le Parc. Yvaral was the maker of carmaker Renault’s visual identity between 1972 and 1992.
